KNOWLEDGE

Indicate clearly damage and defects on sale

A clear description separates facts, suspicions and unknown causes. That helps to match expectations about a damaged vehicle.

Write what you see

Note which problem occurs, when it occurs and which parts are visibly damaged. "Start non-complaint' is a complaint; "engine defective' is a conclusion that requires justification.

Use available information

Describe garage findings, repair proposals and performed work separately. Put in if a cause hasn't been investigated. Don't make a quote sound like a complete repair.

Make the photocopiers understandable

Start with overview images and add details. A close-up without a view of the place can be confusing. Photograph dashboard notifications and missing parts where relevant.

Specify practical limitations

Indicate whether the vehicle can start, roll or move. Describe location accessibility. In case of doubt about safety or sales agreements, further verification is required; this checklist does not replace an inspection.
