Sell damage car

Selling a damage car or defective car starts with a fair description. Report what's damaged, what malfunctions are known and whether the car is still driving. Detailed photos and available repair information help a buyer assess the vehicle.

  • Always sell your vehicle free of charge
  • Submit without obligation; you decide whether to accept
  • Clear appointments after your agreement

Differentiate damage and technical defects

A damaged body is something other than a defective engine or a car that does not start. Describe the known problems separately. A damage amount or suspicion is not a substitute for a diagnosis. Add repair information when available.

What should you say?

Indicate which parts are affected and whether parts are missing. Name activated airbags, warning lights and leakage where known. Report whether the car starts, drives, steers and brakes; describe uncertainties instead of leaving them out.

  • Overview of visible damage
  • Technical complaints and available diagnosis
  • Driving and accessibility of the location
  • Mileage, maintenance and complete vehicle data

Photocopiers supporting an assessment

Make an overview of the car and detailed photos of the affected parts. Also photograph interior and dashboard. Images give a first impression; a final assessment may require additional questions or inspection.

Non-driving car and transfer

A car that doesn't drive may need another transport. Report the exact situation at the location and agree transport and any costs in advance. If the accident has consequences for ownership or insurance handling, make sure this is sorted out before you sell.

Yes, describe the complaints and known cause. Also indicate if the car can be moved and where it is.
